How is it possible that this is the same team that nearly went down to Hawthorn a couple of weeks ago?

There must be something in the water.

Today they genuinely looked like the team that finished third last year. St Kilda weren't bad by any stretch, and we took 'em on and beat them.

Uppers:
James - that big body is very handy at either end of the ground. Must be in the team when fit.

Nicks - Looks like a man playing for his career!

Goodes - We now have a true CHB.

Bevan - Good getting better. Hard man.

Bucky - 10 year forward pocket? Here's hoping.

Downers:
Leo - Best on ground and does his ankle in the last 5 minutes - typical!

Ball - Hamstring. Given his history he's probably gone long term.

Doyle - Stats say 13 HOs. I watched closely and didn't see any decisive touches. At least5 he provides some contest I guess. He'll be our first ruck from now on, so needs to lift.

What a day! Just got home and I don't even know where to begin. A belter of a crowd, fantastic atmosphere, nice day and a Swannies win!

Leo Barry is amazing. I don't think there is another footballer out there like him. For someone who can keep Gehrig to 2 touches (I think?) and provide the run off the back line is just unbelievable. His work on Hamill when G went off was just as convincing, and make no mistake about it - he deserved the cheers and standing ovation he got when he left the ground. Anyone know what happened to him?

The whole team just gelled today, and it was great to watch. Young and old - all seemed to lift. I noticed watching last weeks Saints game that they just always seemed to have 2-3 more players around the ball. Today it was our turn. The one-percenters made a real difference, and I would love to know how many effective tackles were made in that game.

Against a top team like the Saints you would hope that your players at least broke even with theirs - but we seemed to surpass that today. Hall had a field day (loved the masks!), Nicks was great with four goals and I thought Micky did really well without kicking too many. The midfield was superb. Kirk, Buchanan, Williams, Jude, Mathews etc... hard to fault them against quality opposition. Doyle did well in the absence of Ball (anyone know what happened to him?).

Craig Bolton, Goodes and Bevan take a bow. Awesome.

You may notice I'm slightly excited.

Special mention to the O'Loughlin/Fosdike place kick and Leo Barry's attempted screamer in the backline (if only it had stuck...)

This team is a pleasure to watch.

M19 - Hamill (I think) landed on his ankle. Leo didn't seem overly concerned when they interviewed him in the rooms. Said he'd ice it overnight and should be right for the Port game.

Sadly, it appears that Ball won't be so fortunate. I didn't see what happened, how did he do his hammy?

Thanks Charlie. Good to hear about Leo. I'm not exactly sure what happened to Ball - it seemed that one moment he was fine, the next he was clutching his leg. The strange thing was he stayed on and contested a few more hitouts, and waved the trainer away when he came out. Very strange

Leo did his ankle huh? They were working on the back of his knee when on the bench...

Mickey and Bally plus Doyley all had ice on their hammies, so I hope they'll be fine next week.

The good thing for us is after that Port match we've got the 2 week break till the Pies match...

I was worried when the commentaters first said "Ball is clutching his hammy"(or something along those lines) I wasnt sure whether it was our Ball or theirs but I thought with our luck it would be Jason. I was relieved though when he contested a few more hitouts, but then he went off, weird.

Eade said on the radio they are hoping Ball could be a muscle - as he stayed there a bit. We can hope - Doyle is hurt too so what do we do for a Ruck - maybe go to Andrew in the two's.

What a day.

So long since the crowd was that excited at the first bounce!

First full 4 quarter effort of the season - and possibly the best team effort in years.

Fantastic to win in front of so many people to. We haven't done well in front of hyped up crowds the past year or so.

Keep it up boys!! PLEASE

Anyone know what Eade's relationship with the club is like? It's been two years - I hope he was in the rooms today.

Eade said he is fine with everyone at the club except a single person.

As for our side, I can't believe this is the same side we have seen for much of this year. Then again, I shouldn't really be that surprised!!
