just heard on the news of his passing, r.i.p in geoff and thanks for all your work with our swans

Not a board member but long term active involvement with the club, in part through his Ford connections.

And I wouldn't have thought he was older than mid-50s, was he?

That is terrible news. He was incredibly well liked and respected and was devestated when he was transferred to Germany meaning he resigned his position as stats man (I think) for Roosy.

He loved the Swans with all his heart not only have we lost a true believer but Australia has lost a superb ambasaador and man of great professional integrity.

It is him.
Gave away umpiring to concentrate on his career with Ford

Had a bit to do with with Geoff while he was the Pres of Ford and enjoyed a few business breakfasts with him where we chatted the whole time about the Swans.

I most remember him as an umpire when I was a kid. he was always good at that. RIP Geoff, you'll be missed.
