Sydney?s leader of most consecutive games played, Jared Crouch, will not remember his 111th match fondly.

The tough midfielder claimed his side was both outclassed and out-hustled by Adelaide and was nowhere near as enthusiastic as it should have been on the occasion of the first SCG clash for the year.

The home side could only watch as the visitors piled on goal after goal eventually facing a 45-point deficit at the main break.

When Tadhg Kennelly goaled in the ninth minute of the final term the gap was narrowed to two goals, before Adam Goodes missed from in front and Nick Davis hit the post, which proved costly as Tyson Edwards kicked his second major to ensure a Crows victory.

?They are a good side but we were not showing the same enthusiasm in the first half as we did in the second half,? Crouch said.

?It was a tough game but unfortunately we let them get a start and it doesn?t matter how well we played we could never get back into it.

?We fumbled the ball and turned it over and the chances we did get we didn?t kick. Obviously they had a big lead on us and the boys showed a bit after halftime but unfortunately it was al too late.?

Coach Paul Roos praised the 25-year old for his effort marking Andrew McLeod but Crouch admitted Roos didn?t say much at halftime.

?He didn?t have to say much but he did say you have to look your teammate in the eye and a lot of guys I don?t think were able to do that in the first half.

?It?s obviously a challenge he threw to us and some guys answered it but unfortunately it did take a challenge from the coach.

?We should be out there minute one you should be challenged and wanting to play for your mates.?
