While Sydney will enjoy a significant home-town advantage at the SCG and a ground it is more comfortable on, the Swans won't reflect too much on their 54-point bashing of Geelong back in round 15. The Cats were missing a group of key players and as coach Mark Thompson said they took their "reserve side up there". Geelong will field most of the players it needs with the exception of goalsneak Paul Chapman. Equally the Cats will face a different sort of opposition from the ragged Melbourne outfit which buckled to them last week. The Swans can be expected to congest all the contests, frustrating the Cats, but it is the style of game which has been effective for them all season. Fresh from a narrow and controversial loss to West Coast at Subiaco last weekend, the Swans, who enjoy enormous vocal support in Sydney, will be out for retribution and Geelong looks like a prime target.
Key: Sydney's forward line-up led by Barry Hall will face an equally formidable Geelong defence in Matthew Scarlett, Tom Harley and Cameron Mooney. But the game is likely to be a low-scoring affair and unless the Cats midfielders can step up again to aid the forward line the Swans may be able to sneak enough through to win.
    Tip: Sydney by 20 points.
