The three players, one from the West Coast Eagles, one from Port Adelaide and one from Fremantle, have each tested positive twice to social drugs banned in sport.
But Simon Marks, SC, for the newspapers, said they would argue the information was not confidential, and that names had been mentioned on the internet.
Mr Marks said the public held AFL players in high esteem. Players held positions of privilege and the public was entitled to know if players had taken illicit drugs
And conversely, journalists are held with such little regard that they can smoke, snort or inject whatever they like!

And it's been over 20 yrs since I studied Evidence at Law School so I'm probably not equipped either. But I suspect the AFLPA would never have allowed these sorts of tests if they thought there was any prospect of them ending up in the hands of the Plods.
