Roos continues the Swans v the AFL agenda

Again with the rule changes :

which I think is part of maintaining the us vs. the big bad AFL psyche (sp?) that worked so well last year, all while attempting to get the umps on side.......clever!!!!!

It won't last forever, but it seems we're going to see it for a fair distance this year.

Whatever olive branch offered by Kommissar on Tuesday, it's been thrown in the fire.

    why is it always us?
i mean it can't be the interstate thing.. cos that would put WCE, Port, Adelaide + Lions in the mix.

    so what is it?

I think there's a philisophical disagreement between the club and the AFL about how the code should be promoted in Sydney.

The Swans want all promotion about the Swans while the AFL wants the game, not the club, to be focus of promotion.

There is merit to both arguments.

The other issue is most likely the one surrounding a second Sydney team. I sense the Swans are resisting far too much much to the AFL's (Demitrious) liking.

Or maybe its simply that the Swans are still seeting over Demitriou's comments last year.

You all make very valid points. But for me the most pertinent part of this article was Rooseys' new haircut. I think it makes him look younger, but that wisp of grey creeping in the side there looks a bit more promient.
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!

Its definately ever since Demitriou made those comments last year! Noticed the other night at the season launch he gave a big suck up speech about the swans.....saying it was his highlight of 2005 that they won the flag and other teams should display their character etc. more or less an unofficial apology for last years ridiculous comments
