Citing 'Irreconcilable differences'? Geez, I hope not.

I always get worried about the health of the Club when I see changes in the Board Room. Be on alert if there is another announcement in the short term.

Kelly thinks Sydney is better than Melb.

I always felt it was odd that he stood in the first place but it all makes sense now.

I reckon the club persuaded him to stand for the first member elected ballot to make sure that they knew what they were getting in order not to have hte board destablised at the time.

They knew Kelly would be elected if he stood and they knew that he would not change the dynamics of the board.

Very smart move by the club to limit any potential for a couple of trouble makers or smart alec's getting onto the board at that time, only to ruffle some feathers.

I thought I'd wait until Member Election II

A smart move perhaps, but one doomed to fail in the long term.

Kel may well have been a hero on the field, but I never saw him as the type who would understand nor cope with the sometimes-nasty shenanicas of the board of a $52 million 'company' like the Sydney Swans.

He may have been encouraged to keep the status quo on the club board. Hopefully when elections come around again, there won't be too many problems in finding a qualified replacement who can help bring the club forward.

Still, we have won a Premiership, so my days of getting involved in that sort of politics are well over. I'm tired to be honest of supporting an ideal then letting it be highjacked by people with hidden agendas out to big-note themselves.

Are you on the board JF? Can you do something about the socks and Mathews?

No, not even hinted at. I think Kelly is leaving on a high.
