    This week's team

    B: Barry, Richards, Schneider
    HB: Mathews, Roberts-Thomson, C.Bolton
    C: J.Bolton, Kirk, Crouch
    HF: O'Keefe, Hall, Goodes
    F: Williams, O'Loughlin, N.Davis
    FOLL: Jolly, Ablett, McVeigh
I/C (from): Buchanan, Chambers, Dempster, Fosdike, Kennelly, Malceski, Moore
    IN: Kennelly, Dempster, Moore

Well so far we know Kennelly is going to come back, so I would think Dempster and Moore would not come into the side. Question is, with Kennelly named on the bench, who gets the arse? My money is sadly on Malceski because I don't see Buchanan, Chambers or Fosdike getting dropped.

Certainly good to see D Jolly in the side.

Agreed. Also good to see McVeigh still there.

Jamar is also out of the Dee's side which is good, might mean we only need to contend with White.

Paul Johnson and/or Holland will ruck for them instead. Not that they White gets a lot of rest in any case.

              McVeigh

I hope they give McVeigh plenty of game time so he has a chance to get into the flow of it and prove himself.

I must say I have my doubts about him but i would rather see him get a good crack at it instead of trying to do a bit part off the bench.

IMO he needs 20 plus possessions and to hit some forward targets...in essence it is time fir him to step up.

I was actually watching his brother Mark the other day and it got me thinking. Mark isn't that great a player - he shows more poise as u would expect due to his game time, but still i dont see anything special. Hes not that fast, average skills, but he is useful. How he differs from Jarrad, is that he is a lot bulkier. Its frustrating that each season i hope that during the pre-season break jarrad will hit the gym and drink protein shakes till his belly hurts - but it never happens, he always comes back looking just as slight. He needs that bulk for confidence, he looks too scared around the ground to get stuck in.
I spose my question is this, is our pre-season conditioning program effective?

If the measure is a premiership based on tough, contested football and having your most important players not only fit and firing at the end of the year but also peaking in form, then I guess the answer is yes.

I agree, Sydney Swans 2005 AFL Premiers says it is.

That's the trump to any arguement isn't it.

Absolutely! So long as he's not being risked unduly. I'd much prefer one game on Sunday without him than say a 6-week period if he aggravates an injury.

But then again, with the Swans' recent injury record you have to believe they know what they're doing!
