Thank god for this thread. I thought I was the only one
who thought Mathews was a dead set dud. No ones mentioned the
handpass in last weeks game against Melbourne that went straight
to a Melbourne player deep in their forward line and resulted in
their winning goal. Fair dinkum if I had had a brick with me at
the time, it would have gone straight through the telly.

I agree with you on Mathews, however in his defence I think that hand pass took a big deflection before ending up in the Melbourne players hands.

He hit one target tonight, but went missing for a long time. When he was in the play he got a fair bit of the ball, but he kicks worse than Jude.

Dont think he played the first half, thats why we were so good.

I reckon he got one good handpass off, but kicked over heads, missed targets by a mile when clear.

He kicked one to MOL for a shot at goal, he was on in the first half because he got at least 1 kick in each of the first 2 qrtrs.

Clearly had a good first half. Now if was tagging someone and did a good job then that is fair enough. The good thing he didn't have many possessions he could stuff up. Happy if thats what he does every week.
