Ended up as it should have...although I can't for the life of me understand why the three umpires are still umpiring seniors football this weekend.

Agreed. I reckon the game should end when the siren goes.Originally posted by goswannie14

What's the bet that before seasons end the umpires will carry buzzers that go off when the siren goes.Originally posted by Destructive

It is only the second time in 110 seasons, so I think that is a storm in a teacup.Originally posted by Matt79
This is going to open a can of worms now.

Would certainly have been disgraceful if St Kilda had held onto two points.
Dockers deserved to win, Dockers won, Dockers get the points.
It cost me the card, but the right result was awarded."It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.

Nope. The game was tied because an umpire made a mistake. That mistake was able to be rectified three days later. This potentially opens a very large can of worms.Originally posted by goswannie14

They are saying that it was actually the time keepers fault for not continuosly(sp?)sounding the buzzer until the umps heard it,hence the laws of the game were not adhered to as apposed to the umps being at fault(human error)for not hearing it.So the the actual rules were broken rather than a usual ump error.
I dare say the timekeeper may be looking for work elsewhere. The Future is Bright,The Future is Red And White.Comment

He offered his resignation but it wasn't accepted. Apparently he's done timekeeping at over 500 games. He has however been given a break this week.Originally posted by Grant
