    Mathews...

How does he fit back into this lineup??

You cannot replace Malceski now ... the only two that are possibles are Richards and McVeigh...

Honestly, I don't think Mathews is in our best 22 on player ability alone. He can tag, but that is about all he offers these days.

We no longer need him as a linkman with Goodes, Schneider etc in form.

Do you think he'll be back?

    Thoughts?

I am not sure if he has a place in the side right now. The thing I am sure of is having missed two weeks and the way the team has played in those two weeks, he should not be able to just come straight back in to the senior team. He's not one of the handful who you would put straight back in, and if they did do that, it would send a very bad message.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

You would think he would have to earn his spot again after the balanced performance today.

I think he might be suffering from that career ending ailment known as Maxfield's Knee.

No one deserves to be dropped from today's side. Sorry, Benny, have another rest.

McVeigh will get shafted. Just wait and see.

It will be interesting to see how the coaches handle this one, particularly given that we play the Dogs next week. His relative lack of pace means he's not ideally suited to that match. If he were already in the team I don't think he'd get dropped for it, but it is harder to build a case for bringing him back in to a team that's won by over 100 points.

They couldn't possibly bring him back for next week's match. I don't see any logic in that, given his lack of leg speed and the way the team has settled. Possibly the week after.

I think you can only have one of Mathews or Ablett, they are both being used as defensive stoppers with time up forward.

I would put good money on it that McVeigh will make way for Benny soon.

maybe chambers or LRT might make way for him (or someone else) this week as the dogs aren't a very tall team

                        horses for courses perhaps

LRT might be an option to leave out. He will have no one to play on.

I'm not saying that it won't happen but I just thought it interesting that as I was in the car on the way home from the game I noted that 3AW gave McVeigh 1 vote. (Goodes was their BOG)
