We look small, but I don't mind the team selection given the injury concerns we have. Really happy to see Hanily getting a go - has looked more than useful in the pre-season, and I think has a great chance to nail a spot in the best 23 longer term with a good start to the season."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Yes, they do seem to have a few more talls than us, so hopefully the ground is a bit slippery. Although, there is the possibility of Ladhams or Francis coming in as a late change, if the coaches start to get concerned about their height advantage.Comment

If it gets a bit slippery we may be ok but still, I think we’re missing a bit of height. Is Adams going to be our sub?Comment

Being missing from the injured list is not the same as being free of injury. Players are often nursing little niggling injuries that are not severe enough to be listed officially but their performance can be hindered by such injuries. Resting McLean will help that injury heal."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

From the team list on the AFL website: "Hayden McLean, who has been nursing a groin issue in recent weeks, has been left out."

I am a bit concerned about our injury list. I missed the news about McLean but looking at who is not picked there is not much available beyond the named players. I was fairly impressed by Andrew and Bice in the preseason hitouts but obviously they are behind more experienced players chosen. Papley and Grundy both named after being test. If they were to drop out at the last moment it would likely be Mitchell and Ladhams to come in but after that the cupboard looks pretty bare.Comment

Before someone more sarcastic takes a shot: the interchange bench was expanded in the 2021 season, from four on the bench, to four plus a sub. There was some talk about making it five on the bench and no sub, but that appears to have fallen by the wayside.Comment
