General footy chat Round 5: the other games.

Could be a fun start to the weekend, with Adelaide strongly favoured to beat Geelong tonight. Not sure if they should be as short priced as they currently are, but I'm hoping that they beat Geelong. These days, I really just want to see Geelong lose.

Wouldn't mind seeing Port lose to end the round. Not that I really have anything against them, buy it would be sort of nice, if the large cohort of Hinkley haters go totally feral. I mean, I'd like to see the AFL press conference, when they explain how everybody had a lovely time at gather round, despite the Port fans burning down the stands at Alberton.

Yes, but the funniest result of the weekend would be the Weagles beating Carlton.

That would be handy. It'd be hard to see them coming back from 0-5

Crows are playing such quality, entertaining and instinctive footy .

Crows/Cats was a cracking game with the Cats prevailing. I don't mind the Crows - Matthew Nicks was a very good player for us and I find him very likable - but it's hard to take to Tex and I don't have a problem with Jordan Dawson being on the losing side either.

Farmer Smith played a good game.

Yes, maybe more people are starting to cotton on, that things mightn't be totally legit at Geelong.

Essendon are playing average footy. Turnovers, fumbling, sloppy, getting beaten in the middle. And yet they’re smashing the Dees. They’ve completely lost it.

Horrible to watch in places. Thankfully I fell asleep near the end. Truly a case of the least-bad team will win it.

Can't help but think that things are not right internally at Melbourne. I wonder who'll be gone by the end of the season. I do feel a little for Petracca who worked hard but looks like a shell of his former self at times. Someone got him in the back of the ribs last night and you could almost see him having a flashback.

Kenny’s notorious for occasionally being able to wind his players up perfectly. What a first half so far. Obliterating the Hawks.

ABC Online called it Sicko Saturday, calling the football at the Adelaide Oval "gloriously bad".

Although, if they now fall in a total heap, they'll be deeply mentally scarred for next week.

Now I'm just hoping for a suspension or two.

Has to be said, the 'Hollywood Hawks' went into this match believing their own press. Wankers.

Last year Hawthorn lost the first 5 games, the last being flogged by us at the MCG. Round 6 and in comes Will Day and they go on to be beaten by a whisker in the finals. Day is now out for the year and they looked like a ship without a rudder. They were better in the 2nd half but will history repeat?
