Match Thread Match thread: Swans v Collingwood.

Lovely night for football, clear skies, temperature in the low 20s and a light breeze. Could be an excellent game.

    Stats time:

Sydney/South Melbourne has played Collingwood 234 times. The only team that Sydney has played more times is Carlton (235 times).

The record is 89 wins, 1 draw (in 1947) and 144 losses for a winning percent of 38.2%. Since relocation in 1982, the record has been 31 wins and 33 losses.

In the last 10 years, the record is 8 wins and 4 losses. Nine of those games were at the SCG, two at the MCG and one at the Gabba. Six of those 12 games were decided by less than 10 points.

Venues this century (2001 and later) are Docklands 4, Gabba 1, MCG 6, SCG 9, Stadium Australia 13. Sydney and Collingwood are playing at the Adelaide Oval for the first time.

Not alone here but I hate Collingwood so extra important for a win.

Amartey, Hayward and McLean are keys if they play well we are in with bloody good chance. Hopefully Chad feels better than last week - he looks ok pre-game.

          Go Bloods!

            Nice movement out of defence.

Heeney looks like he could have a big night. I'm starting to like Hanily.

Good start with the field kicking so far ...and goal kicking!

Cleary had some nice touches in that movement.

We're hanging in but I think some of our less experienced players are a bit rattled. I too hate Collingwood, they are an afl love child. But they are a pretty good team. This is a good test for us .

I won't complain about umpiring because when we play a big Melbourne team I expect a shelacking from the umps

I do like it when Chad hits a pass.

Yes and his pressure was very good - hopefully he has a role on Quaynor

                          He does.

We’ve run past the ball a few times, so I reckon Cox will be into them to even up the contested ball. Fix that, and we’re doing a lot better. It’d help our defenders too given some of the free run the Pies have had to run in and hit targets.

Is it just me or does there seem to be a lot of throws out there today?
