I wouldn’t dream of lecturing anyone Stevo- but I don’t see how we can condone the word “hate” towards any player. The world would be a better place if we eradicated that word from our vocabulary. I agree with TS above that Dawso’s behaviour was deceptive and in stark contrast to that of Luke Parker, and he deserves our contempt and I’d boo him at e very opportunity.

I will concede that that word was a bit strong....but in my response re: lecturing, I think I was getting you mixed up with Ruck'n'Roll. Apologies.

Players transferring to other clubs happens in most sports all over the world- some are worse than others and can leave fans feeling let down. But there should never be feelings of hate towards a player- that is not worthy of a supporter. Disappointment and dislike for sure, as with Dawso! (The Rat)

Players changing clubs is normal. Dawson (boo!) did so in a particularly disruptive and dishonest way. That is not normal.

Players who cause damage as he did when he left deserve to be booed every time they touch the ball. I rarely say that about any player, but dishonest and damaging conduct is a red line for me.

Compare this rat's conduct to Parker: he clearly announced his wish to be traded after the 2024 season ended. He did not mislead the club when the club was making list and salary decisions. Am I disappointed that he left? Yes. Do I wish him any ill will? No, because he was honest. In particular, I don't mind seeing him playing for North. It's like Luke Hodge transferring to Brisbane: providing a struggling club with on-field leadership and experience.
