    Exit left - Fosdike

If anyone cannot see how useless and of no benefit to the team Nic Fosdike is, surely the match against Collingwood on Saturday night proved beyond doubt the man is no good and has to go - PERMANENTLY !

Fosdike accumulated 22 possies however, they were either one of the following outcomes -

    a) to the opposition
    b) to a teammate under pressure
    c) out of bounds on the full
    d) an up and under floater to a pack situation
    e) dribbled kicks and/or handballs poorly disposed of and invariably turned over, balled up or disposed of by a Swans player under pressure

The opposition have also caught up on Fosdike's non-ability by letting the bloke get easy possessions - which he invariably still stuff's up - in the Swans back half.

Along with Ben Matthews' six possessions, there were 28 possessions that went nowhere, to the opposition or of no real benefit to the Swans from the combined output of Fosdike and Matthews.

This equates to 28 out of our 334 possesions, or roughly 8% of the Swans possessions. If you are down 8% on total output, teams like Collingwood, Adelaide and West Coast will destroy the Swans.

Solution - bring back Malceski and try one of either Schmidt, Willoughby, Moore or Bevan. Two of these four players will probably not accumulate 28 stats however, what they will do is offer youthful exuberance, pace, skill and a willingness to create play for teammates - something Fosdike and Matthews do not do because of there lack of skill, no leg speed, selfishness and slow of mind.

Get rid of em', they are bringing the team down and sending me to an early grave......

I think it's a bit harsh calling for Fosdike's head after one bad game. Mathews et al have been consistenly poor, but I think Fossie just had a bad night. If he fails to perform in the next few weeks, then we ought to consider heads and chopping boards.

I thought Fosdike was poor, but so was pretty much all the team. He's been pretty good this year and so let's see how he goes over the next few weeks before calling for his head.

I have been calling for his head every week this year, last year, the year before that.....

Fosdike's last game was just another nail in his coffin before he is delisted at the end of the year - as opposed to the Swans trying to trade him in years gone by. The guy is useless and bringing down teammates to his level - through no fault of their own - in the process.

He was amongst the worst of our players on Saturday. And he's been in RWO's sights for ages. I wonder if those who were calling for his head last year would like to acknowledge that without his great efforts in the finals last year we'd be looking at 73 years without a Premiership.

He might need to be dropped for a while (though I think others should go before him - at least he was trying. Effort and incompetence is better than no effort and incompetence). But I'd like, just once, for those here who were calling for LRT and Fossie to be dumped last year to admit that they were wrong and Barry Hall and Adam Goodes have Premiership medallions because of Fossie and LRT - and a lot of others that were rubbished here and still produced at the highest level.

Ridiculous thread, his disposal has been very good this year and was poor on Saturday due to the midfield pressure applied by Collingwood.

Plenty of others in line to be dropped before Fossie

Agree with Mathews, but Fosdike was arguably our best player in last year's GF, so I'm not prepared to write him off.

How typical Cressakel. Cmon mate one poor game and you're already out there to lynch him, ah well he kept you quiet for this long. I would drop Ablett, Mathews and Williams before Fosdike.

It's hard to say, but I think Willo could be heading for a mid-season retirement.

I happen to think this is his "one-season-too-many" season.

I quite like Nic. He didn't have a great game on Saturday night but I think it is a little premature to call for his head.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

He did lift a bit late (ok, very late) in the game after being caned earlier so i'm hoping it's a wake-up for him.

Roos has stated that they're going to be taking the Buckley approach with Willo for the rest of the season (aka rest him every few weeks).

At least Fossy looked like he had a bit od zap. Our running players mostly looked slow and jaded.
