    Baz and the Hammy

This thread is not aimed at knocking Baz at all, but I am concerned that he is just not running as much and not turning or bending these past few weeks. I think he is injured and I think the Collingwood game might have flared up the hammy problem.

Firstly, he chasing efforts without the ball are minimal. We need his aggression with Stiffy and McLeod running it out (scarey stuff).

Baz would normally have rucked exclusively in the F50 and did little on Saturday night and when he did, he actually went for the soft tap option and not the grab and goal.

Then lastly, he planted himself in the goal square where he went on to get soundly punched out of the contest most times.

When he did have his shots, he missed 3 sitters (sitters for Baz).

I think the Big Champ is injured and is foxing the coaches, hoping only to take out the best defender and take a few grabs with minimal running.

He will do well to get any touches against Rutten who is a gun.

I hope I am wrong wrong wrong...but I don't like what I have seen from Baz in the last little while.

    You may be right there
Sydney superstar Barry Hall says he is managing a back injury, which has troubled him in recent times.

Thanks yes this injury is reasonably common knowledge.

I was just under the false impression that he had indeed recovered...as he suggests in the article and the honesty sessions after the losses etc

Doesn't appear to be the case!

Who would prefer Baz rest now and be fit later or who would prefer he plays through it in the hope it gets better?

My experience with muscular skeletal injuries says that the potential for slower recovery is greater when the body and mind is under stress/pressure/fatigued.

I think Baz needs a rest...this could get worse before it gets better if he trys to play through it this weekend.

        Hope I am wrong.

          Trade off..
Resting important snr players now and risk not getting into the top 4 (or not even the top 8: gasp.) but if we get into the finals, have them @ 100% (here's hoping)

          OR
Play them now (assuming having these players will play some part into getting us into top 4, or finals) and get into finals not having them @ top notch fitness?

          Which is a better option?
