Home & Away games at the G - Sydney Members

    Hi guys,

Is there a usual seating area for Sydney members at the MCG during home & away season? Is it wet (drinks allowed) or dry (no drinks)?

Anyone recommend some good budget accommodation?

There are plenty of Sydney supporters down there, but it's pretty much up to you where you want to sit (ie with a whole lot of Sydney supporters typically behind the goals) or elsewhere on your own where you might get a view you prefer etc. If you're in the CS allocation, that will be a dry area as per CS regulations. If you choose to sit elsewhere, drink away!

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Thanks Mike. So, a Sydney-based Swans member can purchase tickets anywhere, the number of which is subject to an allocation?

I know TS here is Sydney has specific areas outside the CS that's allocated to away members.

The CS itself has limited numbers and that is subject to being a Melb-based CS member. Aside from that though, you can just turn up on the day at the G, buy a GA ticket and sit pretty much wherever you like in the GA sections. This would probably include the bay next to the allocation for the CS, but I'm not 100% sure - can anyone confirm?

You won't be able to sit anywhere in the AFL members reserve (this area is actually fenced off - its the half of the great Souther Stand towards the city end), the MCC area and there are quite a number of bays that are towards the wing of the Souther Stand that are reserved seating for the home team.

Having said all that, for the $20 or so you pay for a GA ticket, there are still plenty of good seats available.

Dont sydney based members get into a limited number of games in melbourne? If your from victoria with full vic membership you get into 3 games in sydney free either at scg or ts.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...
