    Bevan???

I dont wish to make this a Bevan bashing thread but he was horrid last night.

He got beaten at every one on one contest, didn't chase and fell over all night. I think he has had enough chances.

Ran into an open goal and it landed about 100 rows back on the HFF.

For mine he might try hard but he is just not up to the standard.

There used to be a "rule" that if you had concussion, you missed a week. For medical reasons and just the ability to play at 100%

I suspect Bevan still had some effects from the WC game.

FWIW, Kirk should miss this week. What would be funny would be In: Davis, Out: Kirk

Bevan is a weak link and has been for sometime. I just don't think he is up to AFL standard.

not sure what games you blokes have been watching but bevan has been pretty good since he broke back into the squad

adds some much needed toughness and desparation in the back line

i suppose your the same peope who think dempster has been playing really well

I think both have been reasonable. Dempster I feel has been given specific jobs like Cousins. He had I think 9 tackles last night which was the best for the Swans so one would think it was the same again for me.

I personally think Bevan has been okay since returning, just needs to work on his skills when he HAS the ball as opposed to defending.

I'm with you The Mase (except that Dempster mostly played on Embley last week - and did a very good shut down job).

Bevan hasn't starred by any means but he's mostly done OK. There have been a couple of odd mistakes, but nothing worse than some of his far more seasoned team mates have committed.

Oh thats right. I thought he started the game on Cousins and that is what stuck in my mind.

I am not 100% sure who he was on last night, but provided a lot of pressure.

Bevan's been OK, but seemed to be one player suffering post Subi syndrome last night. A few slipped tackles, beaten for the ball, just didn't have the legs to stay with his opponent. Of course the concussion might have had something to do with it...

Dempster needs to back himself more. He has a beautiful long kick but doesn't use it effectively. I recall he had an opportunity to go for goal last night and instead tried to spear a pass to one of the forwards. He's just a bit one-dimensional. Have a look at the way he runs at full speed to match up after a switch of opponent and the way he looks a bit lost when presented with opportunities outside his dedicated role in the team.

Dempster's one who would benefit from being able to play with a bit more flexibility than as a robot. This may come over time with more experience though.

Bevan is still very much borderline IMO.

He's been knocked out and gone off on a stretcher. What more do people want from a young footballer?

Seems to be the Bloods way - he's set in the senior team for years now...

To not get beaten for loose balls one on one over and over...to not lose his feet in same situation....to kick it forward to a team mate quickly.

There was a thread earlier in the week that linked to a Collingwood Post Site and one of the posters suggested that Bevan's concussion effort was one of the most courageous in memory.

Bevan gives his all every game. And the best thing about Bevo is that he seems in tune with this talent and knows his limitations and does his best to improve the team and he's happy with that.

Some could argue that Benny is just that, but with Benny's limitations these days, he still seems to think that his slowing of disposals is some form of team leadership and poise.

                              Bevo's got the right idea.
