    Credit where credit is due!!!

I was really pleased to see the form of one Mr. Ablett last night.
He is one of the regular scape goats on this site but I believe it will be very hard for his regular detractors to pick on him - at least this week anyway.

His form is coming good at the right time of the year - Go Gazza!!!

To me he seemed to find a yard in pace last night. Then maybe the Bummers are that slow.

Wet Weather specialist. Usually a wet surface slows the game down enough for the guys who are usually too slow in the dry.

        and continuing the theme....

I"ve been quick to bag O'Keefe when he isn't delivering, so right & proper that I acknowledge how important he has been in the last few weeks. He's almost playing the role that Goodes played for us at this time last year, the link between back & forward.

His work rate is phenomenal, he's been tough at the footy - and god bless him he's scoring some goals too.

Oh, yes and he's got hot buns.

        Well played ROK!

O'Keefe I believe is playing in the midfield. What a player to move there in the second half with his unlimited stamina.

Could be knocking on the door of the eilte class.

I think he's playing that "betweeny" wing cum HFF role just like Goodes did last year.

Can anyone doubt that if Davis was this fit, keen and hard at the footy he'd still be playing seniors right now?

The sure hands he displayed in wet weather also indicates a player that has a high enough skill level to stand out over most of the other players - If it wasn't for Barry Hall's 6 goals you'd be hard pressed naming a better player on the ground than Ablett.

He seemed to find alot of the ball last night and used it pretty well.

Good to see Kirk have a better second half last night, winning a bit more of the contested ball in and around the packs which has been sorely lacking for most of the season.

                I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Great to see NOG play his best game of the season. Encouraging signs before the finals!

Hmm, played his best game and was fantastic but he seems to play those one or two games a year and you think this could be it. But sadly he returns to his usaual form for another ten weeks or so.

I spoke a few times in the match thread about how good Ablett's game was. But as Dpw said, he does this only a couple of times a year. Can he maintain it this year...

Ablett is usually given a defensive midfield role and he is rarely beaten (Judd and Dal Santo being two exceptions who have had the better of him more than once). I'd say yesterday he was freed up a bit and given the instruction to go play his own game as there wasn't anyone that needed minding particularly.
