No More Ch9 Friday Night Footy??

Is this the last week of Friday Night Football on Channel 9???

I hope that Ch7/Ch10 do the right thing and beam live friday night footy into Sydney.

It'll beat staying up till midnight!!
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Yep, Sunday's games are the last we'll see on Ch 9 for who knows how long.

I can't see 7/10 copping a prime time hammering in Sydney and show FNF live - they'll leave that to SBS or perhaps Fox.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Well SBS DID used to go by the nicknames "sex and bloody soccer" and "soccer before sex"... surely there's some change we can make to accommodate the AFL

Perhaps even Iron Chef. SBS could match up the mystery ingredient depending on which teams were playing.

For example, essendon v collingwood, mystery ingredient - pigs testicles would be first choice, otherwise turkey.

I think you can take it that Ch 7 and 10 won't be committing commercial suicide with live broadcasts into the Northern States on Friday nights. SBS offers some hope and it could still go to pay TV (does it have to be free to air?).

They do have the option of onselling it with AFL permission, meaning no, for the northern states, it doesn't have to be Free to Air.

As it stands though, either 10 or 7 must show it live on Friday nights to Sydney and Brisbane.

I think the agreement also states that Sydney and Brisbane games must be televised FTA in their home states.
