When Eski has done what Willo has done over 300 games I might agree with you.

As good a player that Eski is, I doubt whether he would kick the 2 early goals that Willo did against St Kilda in last year's PF.

That was a combination of experience and class.

Haha - your coming around slowly Jeff... Im getting to you huh
And the man who started it, the Schneiderman, can kick his third for the quarter. And the swans are in the Grand Final!

I think eski is a very dangerous player for us and has the ability to posibly create something from nothing.

But as far as a finals wildcard, i have to nominat Amon, he got that "4th quarter specialist" ability to break open a game with a few vital clearances or goals.

            Disagree.

Bombing it in long as a last resort when you've taken forever to get it close and the forward line is crowded with defenders dropping back is likely to be a low return strategy.

But if you can kick it long to the forward line quickly, before defenders have had a chance to get back, so that your forwards are one-on-one or two-on-two, can work well and is something the Swans have been doing quite effectively this year. You need to have players who can kick very long so that it is kicked from barely the midway line, almost as soon as it is cleared from defence. The reason it has become quite an effective strategy over the last year or so is the presence in the team of a lot of players with pretty good boots on them - Malceski, Dempster, Ablett, Bolton (no 2), Kennelly, Schneider, McVeigh, O'Keefe (plus Davis too, though he's not had too many chances recently).

Agree strongly with this - especially when the two are Baz and Magic who go together like hand and glove.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

yeah. Too much time taken up "looking" for an option (LRT).
Kick it long, kick it forward. Kick it quick.

                        OR
when you are forced to with you opponents coming at you without time to assess kicking short distances to fellow player accurately.

Ok, to settle the Eski V Doyle 'Wild Card' issue - I reckon BOTH of them TOGETHER are the Wild Card.

With Eski's boot and Doyle's height, we have an option up forward to kick it over the defenders heads quickly and into a one-on-one contest to Doyle's height advantage.
