Swans running the New York marathon

I have it on good authority that a few Sydney Swans players are running the New York marathon in November - namely messrs Crouch & Kennelly.

Good to see that they are doing something off their own bat in the off-season to keep fit.

How do I know? Well I am running it as well for the Heart Foundation - if you feel you would like to donate to my cause that would be great because it is harder to raise funds & train as well when you have a fulltime job compared to the life of a professional footballer
See me run a marathon again as a leprechaun?

I think the whole club is running the New York marathon at the moment. Starting very slowly but hoping to build during the season and storm home near the end.

      Kennelly and Crouch...our marathon men!

Crouch, last week dropped for the first time after 198 AFL games, has announced he and Swans teammate Tadhg Kennelly would line up in the New York marathon on November 4 to raise funds for the Heart Foundation and awareness of heart disease.

Did I hear somewhere that Roos might have something to say about that? What the heck...end of season.....don't suppose it would do any harm.

Good on them. Don't players run 15km plus a game anyhow, which is a half marathon.

              It ain't half of one, a full marathon is 26 miles=41.6 km's.

Yeah, i was allowing for the "15km plus" per game to allow for my lack of knowledge on the exact figure.

RSS: Kennelly, Crouch show heart in off-season

When you look at an AFL player?s diary around October and November you are likely to see holiday plans not a rigorous training schedule
