    SWANS Can't Win Close Games!!!

The Swans third close game for the year and from a possible 12 Points, they walk away with 2 points in total!!! I couldn't believe that there was 3 1/2 Minutes left on the clock and the Swans had already started the keeping off game in the back half. That's been there problem from day one just too negative to the detriment of the game.

If they had looked at scoring say 1 more point rather than being so negative with so much time still left on the clock we wouldn't be in this predicament.

The Swans urgently require some runners and line breakers (Kennelly was sorely missed), hopefully Crouch isn't too far away.

By drawing to Brisbane the Swans showed the underlying weaknesses in their game will simply be further found out against the REAL CONTENDERS in September.

As for Barlow's debut how good was he? Surely doesn't look good for Vogels and Grundy.

Don't think Barlow's emergence will affect Grundy's position too much. They're very different kinds of players.

But Vogels was maybe looking a little shaky for next year anyway and - based on just one performance, remember - Barlow's not done him any favours.

Agree, this year we have lost (bar the draw) our close games. Had we defeated the Lions last night, Essendon and WC who we lost by 1 point we would comfortably be in 2nd spot.

In our premiership year, I think we won a number of games by 10 points or less. Shows we have lost some composure and also given teams to much rope before reigning them in again.
      Swannies for life!

I think that Barlow would possibly affect Grundy's position because Barlow is still only 20 y.o and actually 2cm taller than Grundy, so a key position could be his for the taking as he develops.

He is also not as skinny as some of our other talls, but more muscular. With further gym work and development I would certainly be concerned if I was either Vogels or Grundy.

Or other sides have improved 10%.
