Knowing that you can have a go and test yourself against guys that have played AFL - or in the case of the genuine reserves have been identified as potential AFL footballers - is a huge buzz for a lot of the guys here. While the inclusion of the Swans has lop-sided the comp it probably has raised the standard of 2 or 3 of the teams and the football generally. A combined ACT/Sydney and maybe Wollongong/Newcastle league would be a fantastic thing - possibly played in divisions or structured in some way to minimise travel and costs. I am looking forward to this week end's GF. Best bit will be that there will be less than 500 there, it will cost $7 to get in and nothing to park, the sun will be warm(ish) the beer will be cold and chances are the pies will be Villies!

After reading all that, I started to feel envious, then I remembered that whole Canberra thing.

    Enjoy the day ROK

And with any luck a Swans premiership!

Onya JM - the tag is not in vain!
        And well done Ryan.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

He should of been in the 1's for at least half of last season, and most, if not all, of this season. Then we would of, most likely, had a skillful inside midfielder about to hit his straps....Instead, it seems, we'll be dishing up more of the same next season, from the same unskilled, tired ,old midfield.

Reading the leading players in the Canberra Award, I really think it is important that Paul Roos and the match committee next year promote more younger players to the senior level than the numbers promoted in recent past years.

The club must at least start in 2008 to rebuild, and not depend completely on the 2003-2007 template. A good model to look at is the Premiers from the year before us, Port Adelaide, and to a lesser extent Brisbane.

Another personal accolade for Moorey. To actually play in the AFL is what he would prefer.I hope the kid ends up in Victoria where he will be given a fair chance.

Thanks ROK, I'm pleased to read that for the sake of the amateur players in the other ACTAFL teams who have little chance of playing in a premiership team for as long as the Swans are there. I almost want Queanbeyan to win this weekend (go the underdog!).
