    Draft Camp

Who did we send to draft camp? Some AFL coaches are there but I suspect Roosy delegated the task (since he'll trade our picks for some old bloke anyway).

Yeh he can show them how to develop into the go to man from a kick out because 15 other clubs know that he will stuff it up every time so they let him have it. Can tell the boys though that it builds up the stats and everyone knows that is all that counts.

Is there any word on which players the Swans have spoken to/are interested in?

Here is an article about the only NSW player at the draft - Tony Armstrong - a big Sydney fan. Anyone know any more about him?

Tony sounds like a good prospect, if he's better than Bevan then let's get him.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

Even a bloke from the Wallen 4th's is better than Bevan.

This is what some bloke on BF had to say about him (for whatever it's worth):

"Armstrong is a very good player, i saw him play very well in his AGS games along with Sheehan. He is tall and athletic and not that suprised he got a gig at DC. Only problem is his work ethic during games when he is payed close attention. Playes alot like A.Goodes as he is a tallish wing/midfielder."

His vital stats as at the June 2007 U18 champs were:

                      Tony ARMSTRONG 29 Sep 89 183 75

As he was still under 18 then, here's hoping he still has a little growing in him.

Basically, being selfish, let's hope that he doesn't get drafted in the ND (unless it's by us). Because anyone who's good enough to get a draft camp invite, we should local rookie like a shot.

Yeh i read that today too,but not on BF,"Plays alot like A.Goodes as he is a tallish wing/midfielder.""Only problem is his work ethic during games when he is payed close attention"..Goodes does not have a work ethic problem so not a lot like but similar to Goodes.

Goodes' own description of the 17yo version of him (published in the Record earlier this season) indicates a less than perfect work ethic.

He is only young and maybe the Swans can turn him around into a mini Goodsey.(fingers crossed)

It seems he's not worthy of a first round pick, would a third round pick be enough to secure him?
