    We Are Pretty Involved With Trades!!

    Once again it looks like we are going to trade to get new players to the club,It seems already that we are happy to give up our second round pick to secure Marty Mattner from the Crows.On the news last night they said that Sydney were close to stitching up Kane Tenence.Then there's Sam Power and Jordan McMahon amongst others we are looking at.How do we get them?The offers on the table so far include trading Schneider and Buchanan.This makes little sense to me but we don't know what goes on in the inner sanctum ????????

    ...for a change.

      What the hell are the Swans doing this trade year ?

      They are looking at taking stock of their old and tired midfield and replacing them with youngsters

      About bloody time that Roosy has woken up and seen what his list can do

      I still think they need a key defender

      Did Jolly resign with the Swans ?

        So you think he had no idea when he coached the team to back to back grand finals and a premiership?

          Key defender??? they had the 2nd best "against" record in the leauge!
          Kenelly, Barry, Malceski, LRT, and C Bolton if remain injury free will do just as good, if not better, than this year!
          Must get midfielders. crouch, mathews, fosdike, mcveigh, and/or bevan must go.

              They are working on the key defender with Brad Miller from the Demons in mind.

                fantastic. so we have the 5 defenders i previously mentioned plus the midfielders! there must be up to a dozen great defenders so, once again, why would you need to get a key defender?? midfield has to be the priority

                    apart from glass and harley (both of which would not be on the market in the near future!) what full back would you get?
                    the backline we have is very very good. next year, hopefully without any injuries it will stand up again like it has done for the past 3 or 4 years. the midfielders however in the games we lost got absolutely smashed, by collingwood (in 3 games), adelaide, geelong just to name a few games we lost.

                      Fletcher, Scarlett and Rutten seem to do quite well.

                      Simply put, we have the most under-sized key defenders in the league. Poor old Leapa needs a break. And we need to get a big bodied FB.

                      Heck, I'd settle for a skinny Silvani.... Just.

                        I'd like to see Barlow tried as a KP defender.

                          Now with Mattner and Melcho on the wings maybe we could try some thing like this.....

                          Schneider,Cheese,Demptser
                          Leo,LRT,Tiger
                          Mattner,Kirk,Melcho
                          ROK,Hall,Monty
                          Fossie,Mol,Davo

                          Rucks=Jolly,Spida,Goodes
                          INT=Schmidt,Laidlaw,?,?
                          Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

                            Because the defenders you mentioned such as Kennelly,Malceski and Barlow can all play midfield and probably supply what we are lacking some ball carrying ability and good distribution of it.

                            That leaves both Leo and C Bolton to play as smaller running defenders, which they both can do and will give them a rest from the big fellas. I fear we are going to ruin C Bolton by having to keep give him these types of players.

                            That is where Miller comes into the equation.

                              Two and a half weeks ago I watched a 196cm, solidly built and highly enthusiastic youngster play a consummate spoiling defender's role against some seasoned, tall and moderately talented tall forwards. Sure, it was "only" in the ACTAFL but the bloke has the advantage of already being on our list. Would love to see him get the chance at senior level next season if he puts in a solid pre-season.

                              Also, it's been reported that Roos is looking at Miller more as a forward option than a defensive one.
