    Lance Whitnall

a story just appeared on espn news show that Lance Whitnall has been sacked by carlton...
cant seem to find any other mention of this on age , herald-sun or foxsports websites but surely espn wouldnt have broadcast this if it was not true.
and NO , i am not suggesting for one moment that the swans should draft him.as we have enough strugglers

cynical perhaps , but just wondering if the sacking of the big red would be related to fitting one chris judd under the filthy tankers salary cap

CARLTON stalwart Lance Whitnall has been sacked after 11 years and 179 games in a stunning decision made yesterday by new coach and the forward's former teammate Brett Ratten.Whitnall, who completed a time trial with teammates at Princes Park earlier in the day, was said to be devastated last night.

        I would.

I would ring him today, tell him to get his sorry ass to Sydney on Monday and if he meets strict fitness deadlines by pre-season draft day we'll pick him up for minimum wage.

Could do a lot worse than a fit Whitnall to shore up the backline and unless we have our eyes on somebody else in particular, the pre-season draft is a no loss draft.

He's had 5 years to get fit and failed every time

I agree. If we could get him fit he would be a fantastic pick-up for nothing. A lot of people forget that Whitnall is a very talented and clever footballer.

Sometimes it takes a little more than a gentle shove.

I'd rather take a punt on Henry Playfair than take Lance Whitnall.

That would require an additional delisting and more salary cap pressure for an overweight, unfit and injury prone Carlton reject. No thanks.

Spot on BBB he would be swantastic for our backline he is smart and can read the play great. If we took him he must be on minimum wage but get paid extra for games played and performance, and if he doesn't live up to expectations he should be sacked immediately no questions asked.

Give him a house in Sutherland and he can ride his bike to work each day.

Oh and he can play either end of the ground.

Fitness and work ethic are problems he has to deal with. Maybe a change to Sydney might make him a better player. Someone will have to tell him to stay away from Davis and KFC.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

I reckon he'd be very handy providing he was fit. Wouldn't do him any harm to get away from Melbourne and his family problems either.
