    Aren't they just playing an inter club match at the Lake Oval?
    I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
    We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

      Is that the Lake Oval in Melbourne or Sydney?
      Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
      Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

        Ireland said this year the North Sydney game would be replaced by a late-afternoon, inter-club clash at south Melbourne's Lakeside Oval on February 8. The following Sunday, the Swans will play Hawthorn in the opening round of the NAB Cup at Launceston's Aurora Stadium.
        From first post in thread.

          I thought it was a match at the Lake Oval (so Moore Park) and Lakeside Oval was just a mistake?

            I just read the whole thread. (Now I need a Bex and a good lie down.)

            The game is on FRIDAY 8 February in the LATE ARVO at the Lake Oval at Moore Park in Sydney. (According to updated posts.)

            Are they freakin' serious?

              No wonder the bloody moved the game with a stupid tree hanging over.
              Complaint made by the PUNS to have the game stopped as it was endangering members lives.

              I thought Lakeside Oval was in front of the SCG?

                Personally I think pre-season trials should be held in areas other than Sydney. Playing at match at Bankstown Oval or even a re-turfed Henson Park in my view has merit as well. Anywhere decent in Blacktown/Penrith to play a pre-season trial? What about Campbelltown, the ground there is pretty good.

                They should add a clothing theme depending on where they play:

                Bankstown - Hajibs;
                Henson Park - Loin cloth;
                Blacktown/Penrith - Mocassins;
                Campbelltown - Trackie pants.

                In the past, the Swans have played trial games at Campbelltown (which was closer to Ingleburn), Newcastle No1 Oval, Bateau Bay or Killarney Vale on Central Coast, Macquarie University Oval near North Ryde and at the SCG and Telstra or whatever the Olympic Stadium is now called.

                It would make a lot of sense to play it out Blacktown/Penrith/Richmond way as collingwwod is drumming up support in this area. I'm sure once the new ground is built at Blacktown then it will be played out there. Not sure when it is supposed to be built or exactly where in the Blacktown area.

                  Funny Bas.

                  The "stadium" (I'm using that term VERY loosely) is somewhat finished at Blacktown - you can see it from the M7. They built it behind the baseball stadium. It's VERY small. I don't think they'd be able to put more than 5,000 in the stands.
