An excellent player, AND an all round nice guy/do-gooder.

Was that why he was on Ch10 Sports last night? I just happened to flick over and got the last five seconds. Damn!!
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

          Previous winners are:

          2003 David Wirrpanda
          2004 Andrew Schauble
          2005 Xavier Clarke
          2006 Joel Bowden
Not only are the swans great on the field (we have produced the most Brownlow winners); but they're also great off the field.

That's something to be proud of.

I wish they also start producing more on the field in terms of premierships. I can't wait next 72 years for another one.

We got there twice in two years ... that's pretty cool.

Forwards have the Coleman to aspire to; midfielders the Brownlow. Looks like the AFL Community Award is solidly in the domain of the defenders of the competition.

When Wirrapanda received the inaugural one in 2003 I recall him commenting that he thought it should have actually gone to Andrew Schauble, so I'll claim Schaubs as a 2 time winner!
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Last years at the Swans junior members clinic at the SCG I had to go out on the ground and walk around with my son who was in the littlest kids group and is extremely shy, just to hold his hand whilst he waited in line for drills etc. A little boy who was probably about 5 had bravely gone out with the group on his own, when we got to the first drill the little boy become quite anxious/overwhelmed and he burst into tears so Craig and one of the many volunteers there went over to see if he was okay. They found out he wanted to go back to his mum who was sitting in the stands and the volunteer started to take him when I heard Craig say "no no, I'll take him" and he walked back hand in hand with this little boy, you could see him chatting to him the whole time. The little boy's mum was sitting near Goody Stella and she said Craig brought the ball all the way up to his mum, introduced himself and spent a bit of one on one time with the little boy so that he didn't feel left out. Wonderful stuff, and I don't doubt for a second that a lot of celebrities would have left it to the volunteer.

I didn't think he had a drug habit.

                          Bwa ha ha.
His "talent" had the habit. It was the bit that was wasted.
