You realise speaking well of McVeigh is taboo on this board

Good stuff from Macca, there was a fluff article in the pre-season with the new stoppage coach Mark Stone which suggested they had targeted McVeigh as a player who could be 'attacking' at the stoppages rather than just pure defensive. Signs look pretty good so far.

Finally he seems to have been freed up to get the ball, rather than tag. I still think he made some unforced errors or didn't hit targets that he should have, but overall played pretty well.

So far he has matched his record (although in my books, the tally is 2.5 games).

If he goes one more good game, I'm gunna have to slow down on the roads.

Yes, he was a surprise for me as well. I hope he keeps this work rate throughout the whole season.

Yep, on the McVeigh bandwagon and not ashamed to admit it.

Play him as a HFF - running on the ball occasionally - seems his best fit

I have to admit, he was good tonight apart from some dodgy disposal.
But I'm certainly not hailing down the bandwagon yet...he's got a lot of ground to make up.

he can go tit for tat with his brother all season, brother is one gun player which means our number will continue to play like a no3 draft pick.
as a basher in the past im happy to eat himble pie.
great improvement, in our top5 this yr so far

Been very good - his brother took a while so it may be a trait.

Jarrad looks like he wants to stay in the side.

The secret is revealed. He's been given membership of the Young Bloods, at least according to Andrew Stafford

Of course, there has been a "Bloods" transfusion of sorts, albeit a limited one. Newcomers Craig Bird, Jarred Moore and especially Jarrad McVeigh were all shining lights for the visitors
I wonder if he's in the running for the Rising Star nomination this week.
