    WA at it again!

    http://http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0,21598,23516483-5005401,00.html

Here's a little gem from PerthNow site within the News Network. The bias and lack of respect for Sydney is as typical as it is unbalanced from WA.

No wonder Sydney Swans fans want a genuine pumping of this falling giant from Perth.

Sounds like they are smacking the eagles in that article, not the swans.

I think you might find out that this article was not written by a Perth journo, but came from the Eastern states. It was then circulated nationally

You have to read between the lines a bit there:

Firstly they are talking about WCE being a Champion team and simply insulted that the bookies could dare write them off.

And the intimation is that who can believe they are taking on the "lowly Swans at such long odds, umm I thought Sydney were consistent finalists for the past 5 seasons.

They are talking about the fallen Champ as though they are taking on the Tigers.

The rest is just fluff in an attempt to balance the article. Maybe I am just too cynical, bu the article wasn't written to pump the Swans up.

Must be some reall good stuff.

I read the article, and thought any criticisms it was making were aimed at the ridiculous odds spread the bookies are offering for this game.

Can't believe some are suggesting we will/would/should smash them this time round.

I suppose a guy who calls himself Doctor J would really only be interested in what stuff I am smoking wouldn't he?

If you engaged your bonghole in other ways, you might just be more open to the opinions of others.

Huh? The exact same article appeared in Sydney's Daily Telegraph yesterday! I didn't find it Eagles-centric or anti-Sydney at all. Those are ridiculous odds for a West Coast-Sydney game. On form, we would deservedly start favourites (2-1 hosting 1-2), and I don't think the article said anything to contradict that.

Slow down there Hooded one, I think Dr J was on the money with his comment, all it is, is comment on the ridiculous odds offered.

You are way off the mark. The intimations are yours alone.

The article calls it exactly how is is and makes no attempt to agree or disagree with the bookies odds.

Roos has a podium and the article is purely written in the context of the rivalry between the two teams. That is, the article is contrasting the long odds with the fact that historically the two teams have been so evenly matched and speculates that this is probably due to certain missing players.
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

"But unlike the bookies, Roos is not prepared to write of the Eagles."
You'd expect professional journos to get their grammar right.

Look, I am not out to appear super sensitive and my comment borders on flippant but you dont have to agree and if Ruddy was here I am sure he would be able to give you an ancient Mandarin interpretation of what I am talking about with the sub text in that article.

I don't like Sydney's premiership to referred to as "miraculous". Why was it "miraculous"? It was a proper hard fought flag that was earnt by a hard working team. It's like saying isn't John Howard a lucky bloke to have become PM when he did. He worked his ring off to get to his position.

P.S. This explanation should really have Dr J beating on my door around 11pm tonight for a hit of the good stuff ha
