Given the wide divergence of views after yesterday's game, I thought we'd do a quick poll on where we think the Swans will finish after finals.
Where do you think we'll finish?

3rd or 4th.
Edit: Put this up before the poll was created. I think we'll finish 3rd or 4th at the end of the H&A season. It's a whole different ball game after that.Last edited by Plugger46; 5 May 2008, 04:57 PM.Bloods

it depends on the next 6 weeks
we should win 5 of them if we are any good and go into the break with a much better shot at being a premiership threat.
if we play like the last few weeks we are making up the numbers come finals time, at bestTheres not much left to sayComment

I've still got a far rosier scenario to this year than I had at the start of the year. The young blokes are more than holding their own and with the hopeful introduction of a few quality players I still can see us fighting to go deep into September, maybe coming up one week short.Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

i think we could rebuild and contend quite quickly if roosy is willing to cut the cord and ditch a few players who are past itTheres not much left to sayComment

I'm still looking forward to 2009 based on what I've seen so far this year.
My expectation for this year is that we will finish H&A 5th or 6th, get a home final and win (or at worst win away from 7th-8th).
However, I think the mix of ageing older players and inexperienced younger players will take its toll and we'll not be able to win two finals in a row.
We have an outside chance of snagging 4th after H&A but I think it is unlikely.
All this should set us up nicely for 2009 if we make certain selection choices.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

After four weeks I was confident we'd make the top 4, but not so now.
Top 4 sides get there because they are consisent, as well as being very good teams.
I think Hawthorn, Geelong, the Dogs and Collingwood are better sides than us and apart from Collingwood, are all looking like getting results week in, week out. Collingwood may fight out 4th spot with Port Adelaide, who are now just 2 points behind us and in my view a better side, despite our win against them earlier in the season.
I put us in the same bracket as St Kilda and Adelaide."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

I think 5 or 6 is more likely after minor round (despite favourable draw), but I'm optimistic that if so, we can not only win the elim, but defy most recent history and back up and win the semi against the first week's losing top 4 side. GF is a bridge too far unless you make top 4 in the minor round IMO. That's the big decider in the present system.Comment

Dont know about Collingwood.
Adelaide are going better than the Pies , I can see them or even Port finishing higher than Collingwood.
If we can get a fit Malceski and Hall back I think we can be in the mix in that bottom half of the 8 still.Est 1874
