Michael Voss as a player was sensational but as a coach IMO is a tool and has no idea just take a look at his commentary work.

As for Buckley head coach of the Swans no @@@@ing way i say.

Lets have a crack at Malcolm Blight and give him a go.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

I wouldn't dream of Voss until he serves an apprenticeship somewhere. Tim Watson was a fine player and a useful media man ...
I'd look at Buckley, with the same proviso. I'd also look at Maxfield. I don't know enough about our present assistants, but I'm not confident about Horse after his spell with the midfield.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Yeah - wouldn't want Voss coaching the club. I personally don't think he will be any good at the coaching caper and anyway, he is pretty much signed to the new Gold Coast club to be their 'face' anyways.

Stewie Maxifield moved back to Melbourne to be closer to his kids didn't he? Doubt he would want to move back to Sydney again even if he was considering coaching...

Maxfield still works for the club. He has some fancy title like Head of Player Management, though I think it's more on the scouting / recruiting side than player welfare (though might be both). If anyone watched the broadcast of last year's draft you'd have seen that he supplanted Ricky Barham as the person calling out the Swans' choices.

It's probably a role that enables him to be quite flexible in splitting his time between Sydney and Melbourne.

Based on his dislike and constant bagging of Roos and his assistants.

What's that dislike based on?? Who knows.

That's a bit of a stretch. All I have pointed out is that I don't think Longmire is the best option and as an example I have pointed to his failed experiment as midfield coach.

Paul Kelly for coach. And then why not bring back Plugger to stand in the goal square.

He's definitely still scouting quite a bit - he's been spotted at quite a few TAC Cup games in Melbourne this year already at least (including a practice match in near-40 degree heat - that's dedication!).
