I just said that none of them (the 42's) were twice as good as Leo. Such a limit will decrease your RWO time dramatically.

On Craig Bird, how do people rate his performance with us thus far (regardless of the over-optimistic/unrealistic expectations placed on him) ??

Personally, I think he has been serviceable and has added a fresh new change to the side. However, that's not to say that I wouldn't object to him playing in Canberra for a week or two for a rest - seems like he hasn't quite gotten sued to the pace of the AFL just yet.

i think people forget skilton just shone in a rubbish side and that kelly had no real skills, he just ran around. In fact he let the side down being injured so many times.

        Both overrated really

Yep, Paul Bevan could have played on and beaten both of them at the same time, quarterbacked in defence and kicked 10 goals, whilst playing with a broken back and his legs in splints.

thats right, i cry myself to sleep every night knowing that if only bevan had been around a decade earlier we would of won in 1996.

I probably agree, although with our current injuries, he is probably still in our best 22. I thought he showed some genuine class against the Roos. He hasn't played any brilliant games, but he hasn't had any real shockers either.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

I tend to agree. I thought he was below par in the Bulldogs game but wasnt alone in that area. Give him some time to find his feet.

I agree. He has got between 10-15 possesions in nearly every game and has only spent about 60% of game time on the field. He also keeps his opponent well held too. I think once he gets some more confidence and plays more attacking footy as he did as a junior he will have more impact, but has def held his own.

Seems to have stopped trying to do too much with every possession as he was in his first few games. I'm happy for him to stay in the seniors.

Still looking a bit underdone and a bit underweight...... Needs to bulk up a bit but I'm still holding out hope for him.

He'll be much better off for it next year.

Bird is out of his depth at the moment in senior football. should be in reserves getting game time and experience

Seems debatable what best to do with Bird. On one hand, some game time in Canberra will greatly help his confidence and building on that after a few weeks in the 2nds.

On the other hand, what better experience is there than to let him continue games in the seniors and making him learn by throwing him into the deep end?

Think he showed yesterday what he can do with some extra confidence and belief that he belongs at the top level. hopefully now he can continue to improve without as much pressure on him with the whole "Next Paul Kelly gets the NO14" maybe behind him.
