How will they know it happens? Will the steward have a big flag?? Or will they pay it at the start of the game in the following week if they only detect it later?

Ummmmmm, that rule doesn't exist anymore hence why we have new rules!

There was no 19 men on the ground on weekend.

All of the eight breaches were for players moving outside of the new yellow box before the paperwork had been signed off.

I love that the comment I made during the Dogs game is what the coaches are going on about now. I made a comment at the time (see the Dogs thread, it's in there somewhere) about the rule possibly costing a team a match because of a lack of opponents due to a delay in getting back onto the field at a crucial moment.

So the player will not only cost the club the 25k but they will also cop 5k themselves for messing up?
The penalties seem OTT to me. Just pay the free kick and move on for the first offence. Then dish out the fines. Why fine the player - it's the clubs footy dept who need to get it right IMO.

No, the emergency umpire (who sits on the bench by the intechange) will contact the field umpires via the already available comms devices. Free kick will be paid at that time.
