          I think Big Footy was.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

"Most football clubs have independent supporter websites, including Saintsational, TalkingCarlton, Demonology, Punt Road End, Nick's Collingwood Page and and Bomberblitz.

One of the most popular is BigFooty. "

That Roosy article is actually pretty balanced, compared to some of the hilarious ones that have popped up about "blogs".

Most of them conveniently ignore the face that a huge majority of the discussions on most of the fansites (bar the ones that were specifically set up to flame a player/coach of course ) are quite positive, or are genuine discussions about games and players. You will get the odd idiot who hides behind a computer and just slags a particular player, or whose sole purpose is to cause controversy, but what can you do?

                Huge over-reaction.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

I liked the fact that Roosy made the point that these sites are for fans, not footballers.

Totally, agree. I think that the clubs should be happy that their fans have some place to vent their disappointment or anger.

I reckon it is much better to tell your "piece" in a forum then dumping a truck full of manure in front of a club's HQ (Tigers supporters would know what I'm talking about).

                      Spot on , RP.

They SHOULD read RWO . We have differences of opinion , but this is surely the most intelligent , incisive fan forum on Earth.

Maybe they'd have trouble taking marks , though , cos we'd keep their feet on the ground ? :-)
