Having spent the best past of a decade attempting to donate vital organs for the greater good of the Sydney Swans, no one has been left in any doubt about ...

Shaw acknowledges that the recent retirements of Michael Voss, Nathan Buckley and James Hird has stripped the competition of some of its finest leaders. Yet he does not hesitate to list Kirk in that elite company.
IMHO... As an all round captain.... Kirk is better than any of those.

He isn't close as a 'pure' footballer to any of those greats our Kirky, but he is in my opinion the best leader of the whole lot of them and also the most inspirational. Without Kirk I dare say we would not have won the flag in 05. It was him that lead us in our desperate efforts to hold on in the last term.
As good as our young players are going this year, Kirk has taken a step up again I think and he is one of the elite footballers now in the league imo. He doesnt have the skills or class of a Judd or McLeod or Ablett or Bartel, but his influence is as great if not greater and there are no others I feel with the same presence on the field in terms on his leadership. Well on the way to become a bloods legend- In my opinion he already is.

Mmmm - reckon Voss was pretty special. Wanna see a great moment that also involves humiliation of Collingwood, check this? Very funnily done

Love the comment "Cop that, I'm the best player in the league."

            Awesome. Burns is a tool.

In terms of inspiring leaders Kirk deserves to be in the same league, remember him firing up Nicky D in the Geelong game in '05?

Tony Shaw eats a bucket of sour grapes whenever he has to talk about the swans - nice to see him pay respect to Kirky.

                  That Voss video was classic!

Also, Kirk is a champion. He may not have the elite skills of a Hird or a Voss, but in terms of captaincy and getting the most from his talents, he's definitely elite. His ability to keep Sydney in a match or even win a game for us is quite underrated.

IMO...non of them comes anywhere near our kirky in terms of toughness and contested possessions....

I bet they all wished they had KIRK in there sides...
