    23 man bench

OK, I'm exaggerating. Not all of our listed players are ready for the firsts. But after trawling through a couple of the threads here it is clear that we have that most desirable of problems, who on earth do you pick? And even harder, who on earth do you drop?
The point of this thread is that we are in a position to rest key players from time to time. I know we shouldn't change a winning combination, and that players are reluctant to be dropped for any length of time at all, but it has been beneficial in the past (e.g. nursing Baz and Tadhg through difficult times) so there is a precedent. I think most people here realise how hard it is to play our brand of football every week, no matter how professional you are. If a rest turns out to be a way of maintaining freshness, I think it's worth a try.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
