"I'll acknowledge there are more talented teams in the competition but I won't acknowledge that there is a better team in the competition" Paul Roos March 2005
Nowhere near as pointless as Eagles supporters on BigFooty declaring that a premiership dynasty was going to happen, that their midfield is better than the Lions' triple-premiership midfield, that Judd will win both the Brownlow and Norm Smith medals and bragging about obtaining tickets to the 2007 AFL Grand Final, all before Round 1.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

We were three points(?) away from beating Port in last years final which would have almost certainly taken us to the Grand Final. Whether we'd have won is another story in its own.
how well has our list delivered over the last 6 years? I suggest we have and continue to perform much better than alot over a long period including the weagles.
another legitimate shot at the title looms large.....get excited....Weagles, well whats that you say? rebuilding? so soon?

I may be wrong, but I do believe that the Eagles last week against the Swans had 16 of the 06 premiership team available. More I would say than the Swannies.
Rebuilding????What a pathetic excuse. They have lost two players...one for obvious reasons and none too soon, and the other who, clearly, refused to be guilty by association!
pathetic excuse for alot of teams...with good management and the right recruiting for your game plan you should be able to maintain strength and competitiveness.
no fan should accept 2-3 years in the wilderness "rebuilding"
While we are in the 4, I'm not convinced that the Hawks winning tonight was the best result for us. We're now 4th, 2 games from 3rd. Had the Crows won, we'd be 5th, 1 1/2 games from 3rd.
With the Cats, Dogs and Hawks having such strong records, I would rather see one of them suffer a few losses, rather than all continuing to win and taking points off other teams in the 8, as that leaves us competing for 4th at best. It gives no margin for error as we all know the difference between 4th and 5th come finals time. Whereas, if we were in a group of 3 teams competing for 3rd/4th, I'd feel more comfortable. And then of course, we still need to beat these teams come September, so why not beat them in the H&A rounds too and help our ladder position while we're at it???
Just MHO of course....
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Absolutely. I was gunning for an Adelaide win for this exact reason.
Looking at the ladder our biggest threat for 4th is Collingwood, and we play them twice. We need to beat them at least once to make 4th you would think,
the collingwood fixtures are critical in the run for 4th. I reckon if we can take 1 win out of those two and get a win out of the two games against Geelong/Hawthorn then we are a huge shot to make the 4. The Pies game in 3 weeks will be massive for both teams season, should be a huge crowd to.
"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."
