    I can see it now...

"3 votes - A Goodes... and with another best on ground performance Adam Goodes goes to the top of the leader board at the end of round 22 in the 2008 Brownlow medal... a third Brownlow medal and legend status would have been awaiting the great man had he not been deemed eligible after a controversial and carless act against West Coast in Round 11".

If he keeps rolling the way he is, there's a real chance this will await Goodes at the end of the season... what a shame...

I hope it happens, because it means we'll probably be right up there with a chance. A flag is more important!

I reckon he wont be far away. But saying that his disposal was ordinary at times tonight- twice he should of went for goal (Both were difficult angles) and tried to turn it to a teammate and went nowhere near to hitting a target. He is not far off hitting absolutely top form. And in good time to- a cracker in 3 weeks time against the Pies wouldnt go astray.

He is the key to our flag chances- he is the one man in our team that can genuinely blow open a game with brilliance. He is playing well at the moment, but if he can take the next step up to that upper level that he can play then we can go deep into september.

I don't think Goodes' disposal has ever been flawless, not even when he's been at his absolute best. But he runs so far, for so long and so quickly for his size (is it just my imagination or does he look notably quicker this season?) that he just creates so many opportunities. Sometimes when the conditions are windy and slippery as they were last night, quick hopeful crosses like those that didn't come off last night are as good an option as trying to spot someone up in a crowded forward line. Especially when you've got a player lurking around in Magic who can create something out of nothing. And especially when the forward line is creating as much pressure as it was last night - for me the best aspect of the performance.

I don't think he is quicker so to speak, I just think he appears to be finding clear space more regularly.

Creating his own space, which makes him appear he is going quicker because he does not break stride.

Yes, a flag is much more important DA, but I wouldn't wish a Chris Grant on anybody, especially when the offence is so minor.

My observation comes from those occasions when he finds the ball in traffic (especially centre bounce clearances) and seems to be powering away with ease from anyone trying to catch him. I know he's always done a few things like this, but he seems to be getting away from chasers with even more ease.

I think he is running quicker. He's not necessarily faster, but he's sprinting harder to get into space and when in space.

he was kicking them so long last night old goodsey. It doesnt always work, but im a fan of the basics, getting the ball in quick and long to your forward targets and having creative people roaming the packs like micky o etc. Keeps pressure on the opposition and breaks open attempted floods.

I love the way he plays and I was more just making an observation that his disposal was ordinary last night- not that he wasnt doing the right thing in trying to find better options.

That difference is noticeable. I am loving it!
