You obviously have no clue about addiction or addicts, they can never guarantee that they won't use again (whether it is drugs, alcohol or cigarettes).

I think what GS14 is saying is that a 'junkie' will never admit that he will be free of the addiction for the rest of his life.
This is because of the form of addiction.

However, once one is clean, I think they deserve to be treated like every otehr citizen.

If everyone was persecuted for their past indiscretions, then there wouldn't be anyone who was safe from criticism.
Do the crime do the time applies for murders etc, yet Cousins who only hurt himself seems to be one who does not slot into this ideal.
