Was Bevo off the leash last night?

Don't let him watch the video, or all that confidence work will come undone. That's what happens when players talk themselves up in the press - they read it and start to believe it. Time to go back to doing the team things Bevo - individual brilliance is not your thing.

Agreed, there's nothing more fatal than a talk up in the press. Think "team" Bevo, it's your only option.

Correct, but it appears that it is AFL policy for a player from all clubs once a week to pump up their own tyres.

I didn't see the game - fortunately I suspect - but I get the impression that Bevo was playing as a tagger last night. If that's so, he was well and truly on the leash. I'm really disappointed after reading that article where he said he was looking forward to crumbing.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Tagging is correct. When we play Adelaide it is all about the dreaded matchups. half the side was tagging because they were never in front of their man.

Mind you Kirk was tagged last night and was held at every centre bounce it seemed, but no free.

Been a bit busy studying Blackstone to reply to Rumpole but Bevo laid 7 tackles and clearly tagged all night. One of our best on a night when there was not much to write home about (or even on here)

Time to get a manager and shop around perhaps? Bevo hardly talked himself up. He did talk about football with passion. Maybe thats not your thing? Or the players that you get you going?

For my two cents worth , I dont think he was in our best but hardly our worst either (i think there is a fairly long line in front of him).

Its games like Saturday night that show how the swans cannot win games on the back of one player, nor do they have one player who can bust the game open (although Goodes is probably an exception if fit) .

For all his good efforts , bevan does not have that X factor that allows him to take a game by the throat and pull the team back in, so while he seems to be a favourite topic of conversation on this site, for me its a bit like talking up James Kelly and the cats chances because they have James Kelly. Yes a nice player but not part of their top five and not the player that is going to bring them home when the going gets tough.

You conveniently forgot the six tackles. He did the job he was given. By the way who were his opponents and what did they do? He played as a defensive forward, defender and tagger. Not our worst by a long shot.
