    Kick ins and zoning etc etc

    Our kick in tactics and zoning on opposition kick-ins are appalling at present. It is the one facet of the game which is truly planned (throw ins, ruck bounces all have an element of chance) and yet of late we cannot set up an effective kickout and cannot contain the opposition at all.

    we kicked a wealth of behinds last night which should have at least resulted in pressure on the crows defence, instead they waltzed out of defence untouched every time on the kickout. Did we adjust at all...just like against the 'pies we carry on with the same losing formula for 4 quarters

    our forward structure is non existent no matter who the personnel are.

    apart from looking tired, our tactics are absolutely shot and I am well fed up!!

      The option may be to get Tilt to make a comeback...in the legends game he was still dobbing them 40-odd metres (and hitting targets), and he's almost 50....
      "Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

              I was impressed by the zoning deployed by the Crows whenever Sydney was taking a kick in. It just bamboozled our defenders most of the time. The Crows zoning looked like a choreographed routine and gave them 3 players to cover any one spot across our entire half back line.

                  We are so slow to bring the ball back in that it allowed the crows to set up an excellent zone. Why dont we ever bring the ball back in quickly. The rest of the league seems to have adapted to this rule.

                      How frustrating was it to see LRT being the one to pick the ball up after a behind, casually stroll to the goal square, then put the ball down?

                      We just invite teams to zone us.

                      Further more usually the first kick goes to LRT anyways which is a great ploy against us as LRT usually has to just bomb it to a 50/50 on the wing and more often then not cause a ball up on our defensive 50.

                      It drives me absolutely nuts that we don't move it on quickly.

                          Because we save all our energy for the 4th quarter, when the game is already lost, at which point we decide to run and present options, compared to the first 3 quarters where we just stand around and do nothing and magically hope space will open up.

                          I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

                          If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

                              I think recent events have shown Roos to be a much better man manager than he is tactician. He was simply outcoached by Craig, and not for the first time. To be fair, the other coaches should really be stepping up to cover his weaknesses.

                                  I don't even think Roos is coaching the team during gameplay. I reckon Longmire is.

                                  I have noticed that when Roos did go to the box earlier in the year, we played significantly better football.
