    The sublime swerve of Eddie Betts

    The Eddie Betts 'poetry in motion' deviation as he runs goalward to slam home another one against the Doggies today seems in possession of only the instinctive players. That little swerve leaves the chaser sprawling in death deathlike throes as his opponent sprints beautifully away from any tackle. It's something every rookie should practice and it's not rocket science.

      I agree, not even just in this instance. His a gem, streaking out of nowhere plucking the ball like an extension of his body and slamming it through the goals. Very nice player.

      One such youngin thats been absolutley brilliant and with the same sort of swarvey skills is the young Cyril Rioli (Hawks) His first year & the beginnings of a legend.

        There's a few young and old Swannies that could practice this .....
        to see them dragged to earth when heading goalward when the wee swerve would have set them free...
