    What's The Game Coming To?

Seriously. I was watching the battle of the scumbags on Saturday afternoon and I heard the umpire say to Travis Cloke after he paid a free kick against him, "Don't point at me, that's 50 metres". Is our game about the umpires or the players? It is a ridiculous situation having an umpire not liking a player pointing the finger at him and then influencing the course of the game. No warning, no caution, just BANG!

The game is turning softer and softer every week.

Good on the umpire, Cloke was being rude and disrespectful.

The thing that gets me with umpires however is that they seem to talk too much to the players during the game etc.

There is nothing in the rules that says you have to be polite and respectful to the umpires as a player. You are not allowed to swear at them (automatic 50m penalty). That was pretty soft, and really shows how pathetic the standard of umpiring has got to these days.

BTW, it must be soft if I am defending a Collingwood player.
