That old Bjelke Petterson saying: An apple doesn't roll far from the sins of the father.
Rubbish.
Did you read the article? His father was jailed for drugs offences, not violence.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun. Blessedare the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.
It was entirely his fault.
He did the crime, now has to do the time.
Crime isn't in your DNA.

So you believe that we are all destined to more or less repeat the sins of our fathers?
Occupational hazards:
I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.

No generally, but that depends what your definition of sin is.
There have been many studies done that show that your home environment has a significant impact on what you become. For example, if a husband beats his wife (which I would consider a sin) in front of his son, he is teaching his son that that is the way to treat women. Not all sons will grow up to be wife beaters but they still get affected by it in terms of their relationships.
In that way, you suffer the sins of your father. I would think being in gaol and being absent as your sons grow up would be detrimental to their upbringing.
Yet not every abused child becomes an abuser. Very complex issue but there is probably more chance of becoming rotten if you are surrounded by rotten fruit.

Annie, scientific studies have for years shown that there is a genetic link to violence. From memory, extra chromosomes in a male.
However grow up in a bad family or become influenced by delinquent peers then the future doesn't look good if there isn't a change.
I studied criminology many life times ago and the studies they had at the turn of the last century were hilarious. A prominant feature of being a criminal was to have a prominent eye brow bump.
However at that time, there were lots of males in gaol with this feature. So someone makes an association.
For example a modern day association based on observation is that collingwood supporters predominantely have poor oral hygiene which leads to missing teeth. Missing teeth, collingwood supporter.
