    Other than a senseless injury...

...what was achieved by Paul and the gang playing Davis in Canberra this season?

Anyone who thinks Nick Davis would have had any major effect on our appalling form is kidding themselves. He is a gifted 'icing' player, he broke one game open to good effect and for that alone I will be eternally grateful. I seem to remember when he did play this season not only did he not chase and tackle but his conversion rate was not up with the best.

        ZZZZZZZZZ. Another Davis thread.

He'd really have made such a difference last night, wouldn't he?

Where does the OP ask whether or not Nick Davis would have made a difference?

Bob Skillton, Tony Lockett and Dale Lewis would have trouble lifting this side to a competitive level at the moment. The thread asks what was achieved?

Is it really that hard to read the post before responding to it?

Its called, smoke and mirrors..it is my opinion, NDs papers were marked very early in the season, for whatever reason, and which we will probably never know..the Canberra stint was a face saving exercise only.

Skilton is looking as though he is his late sixties and would have to do a big pre season. Plugger is also a bit long in the tooth but with the new rules in marking duels may kick a lazy four or five. As for Lewie his fitness may let him down at present.

In that case, couldn't you equally well ask what has been lost by playing Davis in Canberra? Or what would have been gained by playing him in the senior team?

He could, but it wouldn't be having yet another dig at 'Paul and the gang', would it?

Actually Davis did win one reserves game almost off his own boot. Lose that game and they wouldn't have finished second and earned the double chance. So clearly a gain...
