    Team morale

Just got home after time in Melbourne and straight to a losing hockey final from off of the plane(don't you love it when people say that).

I'm glad I didn't pay for my airfares to see that game last night. It was so demoralising I had two very stiff drinks at the game for the first time in nearly two years.

The most disturbing thing I saw was the divisiveness within the team. There were blantant examples of people letting others know what they thought but there was also the more subtle (almost female form of bullying ) exclusion.

Initially people such as Goodes were going up to others who had made a mistake that lead to a goal and letting them know that the others were there for them but it became more and more obvious that players were out there to save their own skins. By the time Goodes got caught holding the ballin the last quarter there was not one bit of interaction between the players except for panicked finger pointing. Not good. Having just lived through this in the hockey team I play for (I know a completely different level) it takes a long time to rebuild the trust in each other.

P.s. Loved Vezpremi's game and I want our club to move heaven and earth to get Pendlebury to play for us. He does the thinking for about three other players.

Pfft, only 3? On last night's evidence he'd have to do the thinking for about twenty if he played for us!!

(Just kidding, I'd love to have him too )
