Strange article, since Hall is still performing well and has been in pretty good form this year when he's played. In fact, suspensions and brain-snaps aside, it's been a great comeback from what was an injury-hit 2007. But does he really want to play out another year or two in a rebuilding team, when the lure of a boxing career is still there and he'll probably only end up getting frustrated when he isn't getting the delivery that he'd like. We all saw it last Saturday night!

I know the media has been talking up the prospect (Hall switching to boxing) ever since his hit on Staker, but surely he'd have to be thinking about it? I totally wouldn't begrudge him that if that was what he wanted to do.

        Thanks Hammo.

I mentioned something last week about them having to pull their fingers out ...

Quote from the goodesy article ...

"As a senior group we're not happy with the form we as leaders are producing at the moment," the dual Brownlow Medallist said.

"We're the group of guys at the footy club that really need to step up, and we have to do something about it this weekend."

"We've got something to prove as a group to each other that we can play better football, we do it in glimpses, but we need a consistent effort over the full four quarters.

Unfortunately they (the leadership group) have been saying that alot lately - they just aren't doing what they keep promising to do. OH well lets see what this weekends results bring.

The Goodes comments sound like typical player-speak; I think the only cliches missing were the long hard look and taking responsibility. Let's see what happens, never mind what's said.
Hall's piece is interesting. (Mind you, the journo ghosting for him should spend a week in the seconds - "passed it" instead of "past it" for pete's sake!).
I agree Baz has nothing to worry about, but there may be a veiled hint for Benny, Leo and one or two others.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

maybe they are waiting until after this weeks game then the announcements might be forthcoming. Either way there would have to be a couple of players who should be calling it a day.

Makes sense that players wait until after this round to announce retirement.
After all, we will be playing next week regardless.
Weird that they wouldn't want a guaranteed home ground send off though...

Wish they'd all shut up and play some good footy instead of just talking about it.
